Just why did Hardy Marks not continue its Tattootime
series after issue number 5 "Art From The Heart"!?

They started taking things a bit further in this tome:
many more pages than before, and more emphasis
on the "arts aspect" of tattooing. (Of which we are
currently seeing a renaissance.)

Ed Hardy once again put together many inspiring pi-
eces: portfolios of tattoo legend Bob Shaw, Thomas
Woodruff (paintings, no ink), Thom De Vita, Cynthia
Witkin (whose style is very minimalistic and unique),
and the great Michael Malone (aka Rollo). I do, btw,
highly recommend the latter's "Bull's Eyes & Black
Eyes"
(also published by Hardy Marks).

Articles include "Weirdo Art & The Rebirth Of Bold
American Classics" (meaning tattoo designs), "Eu-
ropean Explorers & Marquesan Tattooing: The Wil-
dest Island Style" by none other than Tricia Allen
(who has published several articles on many asp-
ects of tribal tattooing), plus a look at how tribal
tattoos have developed since getting big time ex-
posure in 1982 thanks to Tattootime 1 "New Trib-
alism".

A portrait feature introduces us to the late Samo-
an chief Suluape Petelo (RIP).

"Art From The Heart" can still be ordered from Ta-
ttoo City San Francisco.
Tattootime 01 "New Trib-
alism"
and Tattootime 04 "Life & Death Tattoos"
are only available second hand; if  you need help
tracking them down, do contact me.
