The first Hardy Marks publication in what seems
like ages.
The book starts off with a transcribed conversation/interview
between Don Ed
Hardy and the artist/tattooist whose work
is represented, Michael "Rollo" Malone. Most definitely an in-
teresting intro, since those two old-timers (whom our whole
scene owes a lot to!) do have some entertaining and funny
tales to tell.
Malone's paintings I do like very much: original stuff, often
with an amusing and ironic twist. The way he combines dif-
ferent styles appeals to me. But my favourite work by him
are his objects - statues, lampshades, and the likes. That's
where Rollo's creativity really shines through.
There seem to be so many of them (fortunately? unfortu-
nately?), but this is another one I simply have to add to the
"must-have" list of all serious tattoo / tattoo art fanatics.
You can order "Bull's Eyes & Black Eyes" directly from Hardy
